1.

The Club shall be called the Ashford (Kent) Cricket Club.

2.

The purposes of the Club are to promote the amateur sport of Cricket in the Ashford area and community participation in the same.

3.

The Club shall consist of a President, Life Vice-Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Chairman, Captains, Secretary, Treasurer, Fixture Secretary, Playing and Non-Playing Members, Playing and Non-Playing Honorary Members.

4.

There will be a Committee of not more than 12 nor less than 8 Members. The following Officers to be ex-officio Member, namely: Chairman, Club Captain, Secretary and Treasurer or their deputies. Four to form a quorum.

5.

The Officers of the Club and Committee shall be elected by ballot at the General Meeting of the Club, every Member of the Club over 16 years of age being entitled to vote. Playing Members only (past and present) may vote on the election of Captains and Vice-Captains.

6.

Nominations for Officers of the Club and Committee to be elected by ballot at the Annual General Meeting shall be in writing and notified to the Secretary at least 7 days prior to the Annual General Meeting. Other nominations shall only be accepted by the Chairman of the Annual General Meeting in the event of insufficient nominations having been received.

There shall be a General Meeting of the Club in the 3rd week of November every year (10 days' notice sent in writing to all Members). At the General Meeting a Statement of Accounts as prepared by the Committee shall be submitted to the Members for approval. 10 to form a quorum.

8.

The Committee shall have the entire management of the property, funds and affairs of the Club.

9.

The subscriptions of the Club for the ensuing year shall be decided at the General Meeting.

All subscriptions shall become due on receipt of the Fixture Card sent to each Member and shall be payable to the Treasurer. Playing Members who have not paid their subscriptions by the end of May will not be eligible for election. Members who have not paid their subscription by the 31st July in each year shall be considered to have forfeited the privileges of Membership.

11.

a) Membership of the Club shall be open to anyone interested in the sport of Cricket on application regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs.

b) Any person wishing to join the Club must be proposed and seconded by existing Members in a book kept for this purpose in the Pavilion and the name and address of the proposed Member shall be prominently displayed in the Club premises. Such proposal shall be considered by the Committee at their next meeting and at least two days must elapse between the date of such proposal and the date of such Committee meeting.

c) The Club may have different classes of membership and subscription on a non-discriminatory and fair basis. The Club will keep subscriptions at levels that will not pose a significant obstacle to people participating.

d) The Club Committee may refuse membership, or remove it, only for good cause such as conduct or character likely to bring the Club or the game into disrepute. Appeal against refusal or removal may be made to the Members.

12.

That the Committee shall call an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Club at the written request of 6 Members or at any time at which the Committee think fit, 10 days notice being sent to all Members in writing.

13.

The following persons shall be permitted to purchase intoxicating liquor at the Club premises:

Members of the Club, Members of visiting teams and their guests, guests of Members, and non-members of the Club attending a private function being held with the permission of the Club Committee.

14.

That the permitted hours for the sale of intoxicating liquor to the persons specified above shall be as follows:

Sundays: 12.00 noon - 3.00pm and 7.00pm - 11.00pm

Mondays to Saturdays: 11.00am - 11.00pm

Or as otherwise agreed by the Committee in line with any general change to permitted hours in the Ashford area.

15.

Any amendment to the Club Rules must be approved by the Annual General Meeting. Notice of such amendments must be received by the Secretary at least one month prior to the Annual General Meeting and notice of the proposed amendments must appear in the Agenda, with the names of the proposer and seconder.

16.

All surplus income or profits are to be reinvested in the Club. No surpluses or assets will be distributed to Members or third parties.

17.

Upon dissolution of the Club any remaining assets shall be given or transferred to another registered CASC, a registered charity or the sport's governing body.
