Does anyone know the full story about the part Alex Watson played in the repair of Ashford's electronic scoreboard ? Remarkable effort Alex. Ball Lane without a scoreboard is like the Vatican without the Pope.

Please will someone fill in the details on Alex's effort.

Yes I totally agree with you Bill - the ground is not the same on match days without the spectacular sight of the scoreboard in action, and it is down to Alex's foresight that it has been fixed. Alex looked into why the board was not working and we came to the conclusion that the connection between the console and the junction box was faulty. After making a few enquiries it was going to cost £1400 to replace it with an up-to-date console. Alex therefore spent some considerable time in searching the world for a manufacturer who could produce a remote controlled console at a reasonable price. He came up trumps with a marvellous piece of equipment that can be used at any point around the ground by the use of remote control. Not only has he found this magical gadget but has been able to negotiate a great deal so that we got it for a quarter of the normal price, and, with his marketing wisdom, he has persuaded the Company to take a board around the ground. Well done Alex, great job buddy!!
