Subject : Julian's "new dawn"

Wise words, Julian. I thought the level of debate and questions raised by the players the other night were as enlightened as I have heard at any annual meeting or extraordinary general meeting in my time at the club. Julian, of course, was a notable contributor.
I'm all for sponsors - if they contribute! Just a thought on sponsorship. Would it be a good idea to offer levels of sponsorship? The old gold, silver and bronze principle can work quite well. Backers are graded according to their investment. It means that if I want to give the club £100 for the 2008 season, I would probably qualify for the bronze sponsorship. If I was coughing-up £5,000, it might be gold. I often think the key to sponsorship is not "what are you giving us?, more "what we are giving you for your money". The Kingsford Flower and Pain sponsorship (15,000 over three years) was based on their financial backing in return for a great level of publicity in the local papers, notably the Kentish Express, where Ashford became "Kingsfords Ashford" in every article over several years. We ran Kingsfords sponsored schools competitions; gave a Kingsfords "Player of the Month" award etc. Stories and pix all sent to the local papers. Until we begin feeding regular supplies of stories about the club to the local media, we could struggle to convince potential sponsors that they would be getting their moneysworth.
As for new sports kit, beware of merchants selling shoddy goods. Whatever our players wear in action during the 2008 season, I would hope it is quality stuff, approved by the club. No second bests, I hope, and no change of club colours, without the approval of club members, please.

I forgot to mention Tuesday night that I have recently found interest from two local companies who wish to advertise on boards around the boundary and also would like a link to their websites from ACC's home page.
I must admit I know very little about charges and arrangements for this and have said I would get back to them.
Who can give me some info to pass on?

Please can someone pass on details of the website links to be included on the home page (as soon as the formalities have been agreed) and I'll do the rest ? Thanks.
