Subject : A New Dawn

Following last night's historic AGM and the unanimous vote in favour of Ashford Cricket Club merging with Old Stacians cricket club, may I take this opportunity to wish all the members of both clubs a very Happy New Year.

2008 will be a massive year for the new set up and hopefully we can all pull together, make it work and put our names firmly on the Kent cricketing map.

There are obviously, now, a lot of issues to be fully agreed but the members should never lose sight of the ultimate goal: To make the Ashford / Stacians cricket club a successful venture both on and off the pitch and provide a fantastic cricketing arena for Ashford and the surrounding area for the future.

What we do over the next couple of seasons will reverberate for many years to come. It's in our hands.......let's do it well and let's do it right.

Given the new club format and there now being one big Town Club, do any members have any ideas for potential sponsors who want to join us. We will need a completely new kit for 2008 and beyond, and this would be the perfect opportunity for a company / business to get involved.
