with the merger of the two clubs I would ask our partners to remember one of their old members and holder of the bowling record Paul Nicholas who is living in Dorchester Dorset and is very poorly at the moment.I saw him today and he would like to be remembered to all his old mates at Stacians. He was a fine bowler and very fine footballer who played for Ashford and other clubs in the Southern legue.I can pas any messages of support on to him should you want.

let me continue.......I don't think I was there, I was only 3 !!!!, but I may have been as dad played, but by all accounts it was a tremendous knock. An individual score of 144 was unheard of in those days. It remains to this day ,and always will now that OSCC are no longer, the 8th highest score by a batsman for Stacians. As keeper and updater of all records that are Old Stacians, I can tell you that a certain Matt Ealham with 156 holds the record as the highest individual innings for us.

My record books are now closed !!!!!!!!!

Anyway get well soon Paul

I told Matt of his 156 still being the highest inividual innings for Old Stacians at work the other day.

He just grinned at me and said " they needed long on and off on the square in the Annexe ground that day! "

Gavin, your memory is a lot better than Arthur, bless the poor old devil, he didn't skipper as he didn't play....1993 was one of his away spells from the club.

Yes you did indeed get 5 in a 3rd wkt partnership of 80. It wasn't a bad mid week team we fielded. It was as follows:-
T.Hollyer, Bob Wright, M.Ealham, G.Hope, A.Jamieson, S.Coulson, K.Hall, V.Tyrrell, B.Ealham, M.Lawrence & S.Embleton

A few weeks later Matt dominated another midweek game v Old Vigornians hittting 148 out of our total of 271

Always did say that midweek cricket was a bit jazz hat - sorry Ealy..... LOL

Kevin, how many Kent League hundreds have the current players got under their belts?

For Ashford in the last few years there have been tons from yours truly, John Brazier, Liam tegg, Stuart Paine, john Pym, David Flawn and a couple of 90's from Putts (bless him!). Apologies for any I've missed, but i can't think of any others in the last 5-6 years.

in last 6 years , centuries ( aussies excluded ) would of been scored by HOWARD WOODING, ANDY CRAWFORD , GARY SUTTON, RICHARD VERNON and me . to my knowledge . not sure of any others .

Glad Sutts got one for you - he's got nowt for us LOL. Hopefully he'll get one this year!! C'mon the ginger ant.....
His poor face when we racked up 300+ last year on a main road and he only got in for the last couple of overs after watching me, Painey, Tinks and JB take advantage!!! Such is life......

Just confirming Willow is correct with regard to English born centurions for OSCC 1st XI in recent times.
